A high-level UAE delegation, headed by His Excellency Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, has successfully concluded a two-day official mission to Stockholm, Sweden. The visit was aimed at deepening bilateral ties in key sectors such as critical, emerging, and advanced technologies, while also enhancing cooperation through strategic opportunities and promoting the global security of technology.
One of the primary goals of the visit was to broaden the scope of collaboration into new and strategically significant areas, particularly in innovation and research and development (R&D). This move underscores the UAE’s continued commitment to strengthening its technological partnership with Sweden and fostering mutual growth in science and innovation.
During the visit, the UAE delegation engaged in a series of high-level meetings with prominent Swedish institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Sector for International Development and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Education, the Swedish Research Council, and various public and private organizations operating within the technology sector. The discussions centered on shared interests and the development of long-term partnerships to support innovation, economic progress, and technological excellence.
The delegation featured notable figures such as Sheikha Alyazia bint Sultan Al Nahyan, Advisor at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Abdulaziz Al Dosari, Executive Director from the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC); and Bilal Hamoui, Regional General Manager at G42. Additional members included representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the UAE Space Agency, ATRC, G42, and EDGE. The delegation was also joined by Her Excellency Ghasaq Shaheen, the UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Sweden.
The mission marked a significant step toward deepening cooperation between the UAE and Sweden in cutting-edge scientific and technological domains, reflecting the shared vision of both nations to harness innovation for a secure and prosperous future.
