TikTok removed close to 25 million videos in Pakistan during the first quarter of 2025, according to its latest Community Guidelines Enforcement Report covering the period from January to March.
The report revealed that a total of 24,954,128 videos were taken down in Pakistan for breaching the platform’s community standards. The platform maintained an exceptionally high proactive removal rate in the country, reaching 99.4%, with 95.8% of the identified content removed within 24 hours of being posted.
Globally, TikTok removed about 211 million videos during the same quarter, accounting for approximately 0.9% of all uploaded content on the platform. Of these, over 184 million videos were detected and deleted using automated moderation systems. However, more than 7.5 million videos were reinstated following secondary reviews.
The proactive removal rate on a global scale stood at 99.0%, with 94.3% of the reported content being taken down within 24 hours of upload.
The report further highlighted that 30.1% of the removed global content featured sensitive or mature themes, making it the most frequent category of violations. Additional categories of infractions included breaches of privacy and security policies (15.6%), violations of safety and civility standards (11.5%), the spread of misinformation (45.5%), and the misuse of edited media or AI-generated content (13.8%).
TikTok emphasized that these quarterly enforcement reports form part of its broader commitment to transparency and accountability. The company explained that the reports aim to inform users, regulators, and the general public about how content moderation operates at scale and to shed light on the most frequently addressed violations.
