Israeli Strikes Leave Casualties in Gaza

Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip have killed and wounded Palestinians despite an ongoing ceasefire, according to Palestinian medical sources, adding to growing concerns over renewed violence in the territory.

On Monday, at least one Palestinian was reported killed and nine others injured in separate incidents across Gaza. The casualties included a mother and her two children, according to medical sources cited by Anadolu.

One of the reported strikes occurred in the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis, where a Palestinian man was killed and several people were wounded. Other incidents were reported in northern Gaza, including an attack involving a drone and shooting near the coastal area.

The latest violence follows several deadly incidents over the weekend. Palestinian medical sources reported that four people were killed and 19 wounded by Israeli fire on Sunday.

An Israeli airstrike in Gaza City earlier in the weekend also killed at least five Palestinians, including four women, according to health and civil-defence officials. The Israeli military said it had carried out an overnight strike targeting a Hamas political figure, while officials did not confirm whether that was the same attack that caused the reported civilian deaths.

The continuing attacks are taking place despite a ceasefire that began in October 2025. Palestinian authorities say casualties have continued to accumulate since the truce, with Gaza’s Health Ministry reporting more than 1,460 deaths and more than 5,100 injuries since the ceasefire began.

The ministry’s latest cumulative figures put the Palestinian death toll since the beginning of the war at more than 74,000, although such figures are provided by Gaza health authorities and are difficult to independently verify during the conflict.

The renewed violence has raised fresh concerns about the durability of the ceasefire and prospects for a longer-term political settlement. Gaza’s population continues to face severe humanitarian challenges, including widespread destruction, shortages and damage to essential infrastructure.

Israel has continued to accuse Hamas of threatening the security arrangements underpinning the ceasefire, while Palestinian officials and Hamas have accused Israel of violating the truce.

With further strikes being reported, international attention is again focused on whether the ceasefire can survive the latest escalation and whether diplomatic efforts can prevent the conflict from deteriorating further.
